~DID THE SEVENTIES HAVE LUXURY LINGERIE TOO?~
With that bra-burning vibe for equality in the seventies, you might wonder if there was anything like luxury lingerie in the seventies, right?
Yes, there defo was luxury lingerie in the 70s’, but quite a few things changed and that was also due to women wanting to look all-natural.
Well, even though the bra-less look was hotter to trot, there actually were lovely comfortable bras sublimely supporting your bosom…
But the bras of this era would make the given support look all natural….nothing but natural, cause that was the desired look.
So, as the preferred look was the more natural one, there were even bras with built-in nipples!

~NIPPIES AND FLOWER-POWER~
Well, Well, Well, that all turned on a dime in the luxury lingerie world!
Women were even more flower-empowered in the seventies and with more freedom, came undergarments that were softer, barely there and exuding a natural feminine look.
After cone bras, shapewear, and frou-frou frilliness of the sixties and the decades before, the bra-less look was now in, which also meant showing your nippies through your clothing.
Debbie Harry (Blondie) certainly oozed that look to (and often though) a fabulous T (-shirt)!
If you needed to wear a bra, then there were of course bras for you.
Luxury lingerie would however be as invisible as possible.
Soft jersey materials would help to achieve this goal without any trouble and came in fleshy, nude tones to keep up the illusion you were wearing nothing underneath…

~BRAS WITH BUILT-IN NIPPLES~
Yes, so Uhm…you don’t see them bras with built-in nipples around anymore nowadays, do you?
Wouldn’t that be a crazy cool come-back in the luxury lingerie world?
Nipples do go stunningly well together with all that’s feminine, don’t you think so too?
Nowadays, if we hide anything with luxury lingerie, it often is the nipples…
With bras that smooth the pointiness of the nippies out and such like.
Go on, luxury lingerie world of the now, bring us back a beaut of a bra with built-in nipples please, so we will always look like we darn hot to trot or totally fresh…
>We do however have perfectly pointy pasties around, gloriously beautiful ones, even gilded 24 K ones by the likes of luxury lingerie brand Bordelle, yummy!<

~A ONE-PIECE BODYSUIT~
In the 70s we were also inclined to wear a body, but not of the restricted kind.
Just a one-piece bodysuit that gave comfort and didn’t show through your beautiful flowy wrap dress or skirt of the seventies.
A bodysuit was a great alternative to the rubbery shapewear of the decades before.
You would even have all sorts of cool shirt-bodysuits, with beautiful collars that instantly dressed you up with no effort at all!
>If however, you wanted a bit more of a good tucking and shaping of the tummy and hips, then there were the pantyhose/tights to fulfill that mission, with what we now call those control-tops…<

~SEVENTIES LUXURY NIGHTWEAR~
…Seventies designer nightwear with its nightgowns and sleepwear, came in all sorts of lengths, but we do recall the elongated, long ones the most and much less frilly than in the sixties…
It exuded a more soft, dreamy, romantic look.
Nightgown-concerned, you may notice that there was some elasticated pleating mainly at the top of the gown with a bit of ruffling, but nothing over the top.
And again, super comfortable, but ultra-feminine…although…those quilted gowns!
In this decade we also find quilted night-gowns…kinda yikes perhaps, right?
Or would you be able to wear a quilted nightgown without losing that sex appeal?
Yea or Nay?
